Who does not know the song "Guantanamera"? Dating back to a tune of Cuban music style Guajira and a text by the local national hero José MartÃ, it was used by José Fernández DÃaz in the 30s as a refrain for improvisations on topical issues of the day. Pete Seeger took up MartÃ-stock 1963 at a concert in New York's Carnegie Hall - which it became a "hymn" of the American trade union movement. In countless versions of the title has been sung since then, to the Rudi-Völler-Schlachtgesang that echoed in the football stadiums in of 2002.
