Adventure in India was written to evoke the musical styles heard in "Bollywood" movie soundtracks. This style of music has strong Indian folk influence, but a variety of other world music is incorporated into the piece. This makes the piece fresh and different from the normal beginning string pieces, it truly has the flavour of music from India.
